The ideal candidate will be adaptable, strategic, decisive and focused, while juggling many projects and demands across departments, teams and functions. Development Coordinator – Small Gifts & Database Management

The Development Coordinator of Small Gifts & Database Management reports to the Development Manager. This professional is responsible for cultivation and solicitation of small gifts $1,000, as well as accurate and timely management of our donor database. This includes data entry, tracking and reporting analytics, acknowledging donors, and supporting the efforts of our campaigns and appeals.

Veterinary Technician

Foothills Animal Shelter, a quasi-governmental organization providing shelter services to over 9,500 animals each year, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician for full-time employment. We are a highly mission driven organization to our mission statement that Foothills Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing the best care possible for every animal that enters our doors. Our four key principles of our organization are Community, Adopt, Reunited and Educate (C.A.R.E.) and strive to advance within each day.

The individual will administer medications and vaccinations, maintain clinical records in a computer software system, and perform initial and ongoing health assessments of animals to note any changes in their condition. A portion of the scheduled days are spent in a high quality-high volume surgery environment. Prior experience and proficiency in anesthesia and surgery is required.

The position requires knowledge in animal care, disease, restraint and may at times assist with euthanasia procedures. Applicants must be self-motivated as well as a good team player, possess surgical skills, have experience with animal handling, health and behavior, and take pride in their compassion for animals. CVT licensure is strongly preferred, but not required and at least one year experience is preferred, although for the right, dedicated professional we may be flexible. A strong commitment to the welfare and proper treatment of animals is required.

This is a full-time position, with excellent benefits, working for a highly mission-driven organization. Starting salary will be $13-15 per hour, depending on experience and the Shelter offers 100% paid medical and dental premiums, vacation, sick and holiday leave, and more!

Kennel Care Technician

The Kennel Care Technician is responsible for providing excellent animal care. More specifically, this position is responsible for providing, humane care of the animals at the Shelter, including feeding, cleaning and maintaining kennel facilities, and documenting and relaying information regarding the health and safety of animals to management, and supervisors. This highly visible position helps set the reputation for Foothills Animal Shelter, thus competency, compassion, professionalism, and friendliness is constantly required. This position starts at $11/hour but is negotiable depending on experience.

Adoptions Manager

Foothills Animal Shelter, employing 50 staff and serving 9,500 animals annually, is seeking a leader who thrives in an unpredictable environment and has a passion for animal welfare and adoptions match-making. The successful candidate will be a positive influence on those they encounter, be quick to respond to those who need assistance and understand the importance of accuracy in information-gathering and proper care for pets. The Adoptions Manager oversees staff supporting the adoptions program, visitor guidance, appearance and transactional functions.

Position Summary:
The Adoptions Manager is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and that each animal is adopted to a responsible, fitting home. With oversight by the Director of Shelter Services, the Manager directly serves customers as well as manages the flow of customer services provided by the Shelter Services team to insure all services are delivered in a friendly, responsive, efficient, and professional manner. The Adoptions Manager must also be proactive in solving problems and supportive of Shelter management decisions.

Adoptions Specialist

The Adoptions Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to the Jefferson County community and its animal control officers. In a friendly, efficient, and professional manner, this position is responsible for ensuring that animals are adopted to homes appropriately and with thorough care. Additional responsibilities include facilitating surrenders and returning animals to owners, performing intake duties, cleaning kennels, feeding animals and general animal care, and supporting foster care and veterinary services for pick-ups and drop-offs, when needed. The Adoptions Specialist is also responsible for data entry into the ShelterBuddy animal management software program and securing financial transactions and handling money per established policies and procedures. This is one of the most visible roles at the Shelter. Competency, compassion and professionalism is essential.

Behavior Coordinator

The Behavior Coordinator serves as a leader on the Enrichment Team. Under the supervision of the Enrichment Manager, the position oversees all services and programs related to assessment, enrichment and training of the Shelter’s dogs. By contributing her/his expert observations and assessment of the Shelter’s dogs, the Coordinator actively participates in all aspects of disposition planning and decision making. Further, the Coordinator leads the Shelter’s Dog Training and Enrichment Volunteers and provides training and mentoring to the enrichment staff at the Shelter.
