I’m in a Foster Home
Hi there! My name is Koda and I came to the shelter a few months ago with itchy skin. The wonderful FAS veterinarians determined I am allergic to grass but I am on a daily medication that makes me feel so much better! I have been in a foster home for sometime and have been learning lots of new things. I am still shy when I meet new people, especially men but after I get to know you I will be your best friend. In my foster home I live with 3 other dogs of various sizes and 2 cats. I love to play with the dogs and am very respectful of the cats. My foster mom takes me on lots of walks and I especially love the dog park! I am not afraid to meet all kinds of new dogs! As you can probably tell from my picture, I have some hound in me and I definitely act like a Beagle when it comes to food! I really love to eat and get very excited around meal times. My foster mom has been teaching me to sit and "wait" while she prepares my food. Sometimes I can't help myself and still jump up and down but then I will sit and wait when asked. I eat out of one of those bowls with a lot of rings so that I don't eat too fast. I do very well when left at home alone and do not have any accidents (just a couple the first week) in the house and I do not chew on anything except for my toys. I have stayed home alone for up to 6-7 hours. I really like to sleep at night in my kennel next to my foster mom and dad's bed and don't make a peep the whole night! As I mentioned, I am shy when I meet new people who come to my house. I may bark a lot at first, but if new people give me treats I will like them much faster. When I meet people at the dog park or at Petsmart, I am not as afraid and usually will not bark. I am particularly afraid of small children (under 12) and usually bark a lot at them so would prefer a forever home with no kids. I would love to get to know you and show you how silly I become when I am comfortable in my surroundings! Won't you consider meeting me? My adoption fee includes vaccinations, microchip, spay and free first vet exam. Please direct all interest to email@example.com for application and visit arrangements.
