SHELTER SERVICES MANAGER

Position Summary:

The Shelter Services manager will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and positive reputation of Foothills Animal Shelter by ensuring excellent customer service, sharing a breadth of information during public inquiries, and ensuring the expedient care and treatment of animals. This is an exciting opportunity for quick-thinking, proactive problem solver who can organize many moving parts and effectively engage visitors and community partners in a variety of situations. We are seeking a leader who thrives in an unpredictable environment and has a passion for animal welfare. The successful candidate will be a positive influence on those they encounter, be quick to respond to those who need assistance, and understand the importance of accuracy in information-gathering.

Veterinary Technician

Position Summary:

The individual will administer medications and vaccinations, maintain clinical records in a computer software system, participate and assist in receipt of and processing incoming animals, and perform initial and ongoing health assessments of animals to note any changes in their condition. A portion of the scheduled days are spent in a high-quality, high-volume surgery environment. Prior experience and proficiency in anesthesia and surgery is required. The position requires knowledge in animal care, treatments, disease, and proper restraint and will require involvement in humane euthanasia procedures. Applicants must be self-motivated as well as a good team player, possess good technical skills in surgery, experience with animal handling, health and behavior, and take pride in their compassion for animals. This position collaborates with employees at all levels of the organization as well as with the community. Communication through phone conversations and electronic must be professional, respectful and clear at all times. Employees should be supportive of our mission, our team and coworkers as well as address any concerns and conflicts appropriately.

VETERINARIAN

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Veterinary Services, the Veterinarian is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality standards of animal care, quality diagnostics, treatment and surgical services to animals served by Foothills Animal Shelter in accordance with FAS policies, procedures and philosophy. Foothills Animal Shelter accepts companion animals including dogs, cat and exotics (small mammals and birds) This position also includes serving community animals through public spay/neuter and preventive care programs.
