Cedar is currently in a foster home. Please fill out the Interest Form at the bottom of this page if you’re interested in learning more about him or setting up a virtual visit!
Cedar has had a difficult journey so far. His life began outdoors and, though brought into a home as a kitten, he subsequently received minimal socialization or contact with people. By the time he arrived at the shelter, a long-outgrown collar had become embedded in his skin. The collar was surgically removed by the vets at FAS, ending what was likely months of pain this young feline had endured.
Cedar is seeking a generous family content to give him the time and space he needs to find comfort in a new place and a new routine, and who will appreciate the friendship he can offer – even if it’s only flirtatious blinks from across the room and a shadow at the foot of the bed in the middle of the night, rather than a demonstrative cuddle session on your lap. His perfect adopters will understand that, given his background, it will likely take a while for Cedar to build a trusting relationship with his people, but there will be little victories to celebrate along the way.
His foster reports that the way to Cedar’s heart might just be through play. He’s a fan of interactive toys and enjoys the thrill of a good chase. He’s also a pro at keeping himself entertained by batting and zooming after toys when he’s on his own.
For his comfort, Cedar is available to a family with kids aged 10+ or no kids. By adopting Cedar, you will be offering a much-deserving feline a second chance at a comfortable life. Thank you for considering giving him that opportunity.
