Suspected Victim of Cruelty Finds His Happy Ending

We have some amazing news! You may remember Wifi, a one-year-old Pit Bull mix that was originally dropped off at the end of December at Denver Animal Shelter with another Pit Bull mix named Chicken Little. The two dogs were left in the shelter’s night drop kennels by an unidentified man. Sadly, the two dogs were in very poor shape and were actually suspected victims of animal cruelty. They were extremely underweight, had mange and both had a bacterial skin infection. Denver Animal Shelter spent the next two months caring for the dogs in their foster program and nursing them back to health.

Once the two dogs were well enough, they were ready to find their homes. Happily, Chicken Little’s foster family is planning to adopt her and Wifi was transferred to Foothills Animal Shelter to find his family. We’re thrilled to report that Wifi was adopted into a wonderful home last week! Wifi’s new name is Cena, which according to his new owner is “after John Cena because he’s so big and beefy.” Cole W., Cena’s owner also says, “He has been the easiest dog I’ve ever had. He has adjusted quickly and loves everyone! We got very lucky finding him.”

We couldn’t be happier to have helped this sweet dog find his happy ending!
