Foothills is prepared to accept pets from Whitehawk Fire evacuation areas
Update 7/22 at 3:34pm: At this time there are no mandatory evacuations from the Whitehawk Fire. Foothills remains ready to assist pet owners in the area.
EVACUATION NOTICE
Jefferson County has issued an evacuation order for areas impacted by the Whitehawk Fire.
For communities under a mandatory evacuation order, Foothills Animal Shelter provides sheltering to pets residing within Jefferson County evacuation areas at no cost to the animal owners.
Please bring your companion pets to Foothills Animal Shelter located at 580 McIntyre Street in Golden for emergency sheltering.
Please bring your cattle, horses and other livestock to Jefferson County Fairgrounds located at 15200 W. 6th Ave in Golden, right next door to Foothills Animal Shelter.
