Katya is a Golden Nugget! A pet whose shine only grows brighter once you take the time to get to know her!
Sweet Katya has had a bumpy road and can’t wait for the chance to finally settle in and feel safe. She originally arrived at the shelter in poor health and with her litter of kittens. The shelter environment is overwhelming for Katya and has made her particularly shut-down, which likely contributed to a prolonged stay her first time in the shelter. A kind adopter brought Katya into their home for about a month, over which time glimmers of Katya’s personality began to emerge, complete with an endearing playful side. Following some trust-building, Katya enjoyed hanging out quietly next to her owner and getting gentle pets. Unfortunately, the other cat in the home was less than welcoming to Katya and it was ultimately not the right fit. She’s now seeking another patient human willing to give her a chance and help her feel secure.
Katya will only be rehomed to a family without children or with kids at least 10 years of age, and is recommended for a dog-free home.
