Join us for a special edition of our annual Shelter Showcase!

For five decades, Foothills Animal Shelter has proudly stood as Jefferson County’s only full-service animal shelter, serving thousands of pets and people every year. On Saturday, July 18, from 11am to 2pm, we invite our wonderful community to join us for a special milestone edition of our annual Shelter Showcase. 

Swing by for a family-friendly open house featuring shelter tours, interactive educational stations detailing our services both past and present, and reduced adoption fees on adult dogs! Enjoy a complimentary lunch on our patio and cool off with a sweet treat from Kona Ice.  

Attendance is free with the option to join donation-based activities supporting the vital programs that make life better for the pets and people of our community. 

Event Highlights  

• Behind-the-Scenes Shelter Tours: see first-hand how we help the pets and people of our community as Jefferson County’s only full-service animal shelter! 

• Family-Friendly Activities: join hands-on activities including arts & crafts and the opportunity to “adopt” a plush pet to learn firsthand how we care for our real animals every day 

• Adoption Promotion: between July 13-20, we’re offering 50% reduced adoption fees for all dogs 1 year and older thanks to our sponsor, Mars Petcare!  

• Tasty Treats: enjoy a complimentary lunch thanks to our Bark-k-Que Sponsor, Credit Union of Denver! For your sweet tooth, grab a shaved ice treat from the Kona Ice truck or a custom anniversary cupcake from Goldmine Cupcakes 

• Donation Drive: bring in two or more items from our wish list and receive a small Foothills treat as a token of our appreciation!  

We love all pets! However, this event is designed for human attendees only.
