FREE Microchipping & Chip Check Clinic
11am - 1pm | Foothills Animal Shelter
Join us on Sunday, May 4th, from 11am to 1pm at our FREE Microchipping & Chip Check Clinic, generously sponsored by
Credit Union of Denver. Hosted at Foothills Animal Shelter, this clinic is open to all community members and offers two key services to help reunite you with your pet if they go missing:
Free microchipping: Protect your dog or cat by getting them microchipped at no cost. A microchip is a permanent form of identification that significantly increases the chances of reuniting you with your pet if they ever get lost. Foothills will complete the initial registration for your pet’s new microchip and provide you with information on how to update it in the future!
Free chip check: Already have a microchipped pet, or not sure if your pet has a microchip? Bring them in for a free scan! We’ll provide you with their microchip ID number, if they have one, and the company its registered with so you can update your pet’s chip as needed.*
Who is this clinic for?
- Pet owners who want to get their cat or dog microchipped for the first time
- Pet owners who are unsure if their pet is microchipped
- Pet owners who want to confirm their pet’s microchip number and company
Why should my pet be microchipped?
Microchips are a safe and effective way to identify your pet. Unlike collars and tags, which can be lost or removed, a microchip is a permanent form of identification. When a lost pet is found, animal shelters and veterinary clinics can scan the microchip to retrieve your contact information and help you bring your pet home safely.
*While Foothills is able to scan your pet for a microchip and provide your with their microchip ID number as well as the company your pet’s microchip is registered with, we are NOT able to update contact information on existing microchips or provide you with the contact information currently on the microchip. Pet owners must update any contact information associated with their pets microchip directly with the microchip company.
