It’s not unusual for cats from crowded conditions and limited individualized attention to benefit from a low-stress transition with an understanding family who can help them rebuild trust and a feeling of safety. These cats are often socially skilled with other cats, and may enjoy a feline friend in their new home. Take it slow, provide gentle social support, allow for ample rest and relaxation, and you’ll feel great when your new kitty consents to petting and play time. I’m recommended for a family without children or with kids at least 10 years of age at this time.
