Toby has enjoyed meeting new people at the shelter and after years of living outdoors, he’s ready to settle in on the couch. Toby may enjoy a multi-dog home, and while he may need support as he adjusts to his new life, we believe he’ll make himself right at home in no time. Volunteers say that once Toby realizes that you come bearing treats, he softens into a loose, wiggly hello, walking politely with minimal pulling, checking in often and settling into the rhythm of the outing. Toby lights up for the “name game” and “find it,” responding with quick, confident sits-often before you even ask. Those little moments of connection seem to help him feel grounded, and he’s happiest with people who let him take things at his own pace.
Toby will only be rehomed to a family without children or with kids at least 10 years of age, and ideally, to a home with a secured fenced yard.
