Lizzie’s life so far has been hard. Living alongside many other cats in an overcrowded home, she missed out on the opportunity to develop the social skills most cats build in early kittenhood, and now finds change and novelty overwhelming. Lizzie is seeking a generous family content to give her the time and space she needs to find comfort in a new place and a new routine, and who will appreciate the friendship she can offer, even if it’s only flirtatious blinks from across the room and a shadow at the foot of the bed in the middle of the night and not a demonstrative cuddle session on your lap.
Where Lizzie shines is her ability to be companionable with other cats! In the shelter she has taken comfort in the company of other cats from her home, and joining a family with a welcoming, outgoing cat friend may be one of the most successful strategies to help her feel comfortable making connections with new people. Lizzie has not had exposure to dogs or children and, for her comfort, we suggest this is not the best time for her to be asked to tackle those new experiences.
