Meet Monty! This social boy enjoys spending time with his favorite people and other dogs. We can easily imagine Monty as a great work from home companion, a hiking buddy, or a neighborhood explorer!
Monty can get frustrated when his family heads out without him when he hasn’t had the opportunity to stretch his legs or have some fun, so a family with a flexible schedule that can ensure Monty has a satisfying morning before they head out for the day may be best. Monty is on the lookout for a family that can provide him with mental enrichment during downtime such as kongs and food puzzles as he learns to settle down when left alone for longer periods of time.
Our volunteers tell us that once he is out of his kennel, he quickly warms up, becoming confident, playful and affectionate, walks well, knows how to both sit and lay down when asked, and is skilled at catching tossed treats.
Because of Monty’s inexperience with young children coupled with his discomfort around the occasional stranger, he is seeking a family with children over the age of 10.
